Below is the opening speech of the Hands Off Iran demonstration on 28.03.2026, Helsinki.
Greetings brothers and sisters. We have gathered here to voice our
concerns regarding the illegitimate attack of the US and Israel on Iran. In
this last dramatic step of the chain of criminal wars and interventions, the
US and Israel seek to remove the last major obstacle to their full
domination of West Asia. Their banditry is fueling a regional war, which may
consume everyone in the region and beyond.
Iranians are told by US officials to look at the sky and see death raining
upon them. Referring to the Iranian people, they say “give them hell”!
People of Finland, do not be deceived by the traitors and charlatans
laughing and dancing as the Iranian people are getting killed. Iranian
people do not want this war. They want freedom, and they want freedom
from the US!
Twice in a row the US exploited negotiations to ambush Iran. Twice in a
row they lied about the success of the ongoing negotiations, about how
they were very close to a deal. This banditry paves the way to the
elimination of peaceful negotiations for conflict resolution in the future. Two
nuclear armed states are recklessly attacking a non-nuclear armed state.
This sends a strong message to the rest of the world: develop your own
nuclear weapons or be dominated. This aggression will make nuclear
disarmament an impossible task for the foreseeable future.
We demand our governments to avoid joining this dangerous warpath. We
demand our governments to put pressure on the US and Israel to cease
their aggression. No further escalations! Finally, we say to our Iranian
brothers and sisters: we feel your pain as our own, we will not allow your
voices to be drowned by charlatans and traitors. We support your freedom,
we support your freedom from the US, and we support your freedom from
Israeli aggression. Long live the fraternity of peoples!
