The Central Committee of EEK, the Greek Section of the CRFI, sends its warmest Trotskyist greetings to all the comrades in the Congress of the MWL, and we wish you success to your important political work.
The entire European Union and the capitalist world are plunging in the worst crisis in its history. Bankruptcies of banks, industries, and States such as Iceland, recession and mass unemployment, are in the order of the day. The December 2008 revolt in Greece, which entered now, in 2009, a new phase with mass mobilizations of the youth and now, an uprising of the poor peasantry, is the lightning before the storm that will sweep all Europe, including Scandinavia. It is, all the leaders of world capitalism have recognized, the first political explosion produced by the current world capitalist crisis.
The Zionist barbaric aggression in Gaza, Palestine, is another symptom of the deepest tendencies of our historical epoch of wars and revolutions.
We have to prepare ourselves politically, programmatically, organizationally to confront the biggest challenges. First of all we have to advance our common struggle to re-found the revolutionary International of the world working class, the Fourth International. We have historic opportunities. We are confident that not only in Greece, where our party came in the forefront of the revolt, but also in Finland, the MWL can rapidly develop in the new, unprecedented conditions.
