As the statement by the “Christian Rakovsky” Center and RedMed on the Israel-Iran war was going to press, America dropped bombs over Iran’s nuclear facilities. This even further confirms the analysis we make of the situation.
Down with the US terrorist attack on Iran! The way to peace is through the defeat of the US and Israel!
US imperialism has attacked Iran’s legitimate and peaceful nuclear facilities with bombers. With this illegitimate and terrorist attack, the US has taken its de facto support for genocidal Israel’s war against Iran to a new level. Israel is openly threatening Iran and the entire region with its illegal nuclear arsenal. Iran is not in such a situation and does not adopt such an attitude. The US justification of “nuclear threat” is phony and illegitimate. The US has a criminal record in this regard, when it had previously circulated the claim of “weapons of mass destruction” to justify its attack on Iraq, which turned out to be a complete lie. Striking Iran’s nuclear facilities has the potential to create radioactive contamination. Knowing this fact, the US attacked Iran knowingly and willingly; in other words, it committed an act of nuclear terrorism.
When the US bombs Iran, it is not only targeting Iran but also Palestine. In his statement after this attack, Trump made it clear that he was working as a perfect team with the genocide criminal Netanyahu. The fascist Trump thus underlines once again that he is not only an accomplice but also an instigator of the Zionist genocide in Gaza.
Iran has the right to legitimate defense against the United States as it does against Israel. No one is obliged to give political support to the Iranian regime. But there cannot be an anti-imperialist position that does not recognize Iran’s right to legitimate defense against imperialist/Zionist terror and does not support Iran’s legitimate defense against the US. The US and Israel do not help in the slightest the struggle for freedom of the working people of Iran or the oppressed women. A new collaborationist Shah regime cannot have the slightest interest in the Iranian peoples’ yearning for freedom. Not only in Iran, but also in West Asia (Middle East) and Turkey, the path to liberation lies through the defeat of imperialism.
By saying “now is the time for peace” after the terrorist attack, Trump is not calling for peace but for surrender. Moreover, this war waged by the US together with Zionism against the peoples of West Asia will only lead to new wars. The Third World War is now even more concretely on the horizon. The only way to peace is through the military defeat of the US and Israel. All the peoples of West Asia and all the peoples of the world must stand against the US and Israel for peace and a world worth living in, and raise the anti-imperialist, anti-Zionist struggle.
All Middle Eastern (West Asian) peoples must raise solidarity with the Iranian people against imperialism and Zionism and the struggle against the collaborationist governments.

The Zionist terrorist state of Israel launched an open war against Iran on the morning of 13 June with air strikes. It could not do it without the support of US imperialism, with Trump now demanding from Iran “unconditional surrender”, threatening with a barbaric direct aggression and devastation by all means. The imperialist war dangerously escalates putting the entire Middle East and beyond in flames, bringing closer a third world nuclear war.
The Zionist-imperialist aggression against Iran opens a new even more catastrophic phase in the conflagration. The Zionist state, taking advantage of the reaction in imperialist countries in its favour following the Al Aqsa Flood Operation led by Hamas on 7 October 2023, has embarked on a campaign to uproot the people of Gaza from their homeland through genocide and escalating ethnic cleansing in the West Bank. After Trump came to power, it intensified this war of destruction and expulsion, targeting the ‘Axis of Resistance’. It has assassinated the leadership of Hezbollah in Lebanon and occupied a part of Lebanese lands, it ensured the overthrow of the Baath regime in Syria with the help of Turkey and imperialism, occupying an important part of the country. It has now declared war on Iran, the backbone of the Resistance Axis. This is not just an Israeli-Iranian war; it is a war on the whole of West Asia (the Middle East). Iraq and Yemen will be next.
Then, the primary strategic targets of imperialism, Russia and China are on the agenda. Brzezinski himself, quite early, in an article in 1993, amid the euphoria in the imperialist West after the disintegration of the USSR, warned that it is necessary to prevent by all military and political means the formation of an alliance between Russia, China and Iran. It is on this basis, that the “Brzezinski doctrine” for a NATO encirclement and dismemberment of post Soviet Russia was developed, and publicized in 1997 before implemented in practice leading to the NATO proxy war in Ukraine. The imperialist wars in Europe and in the Middle east are different moments of the same world historical process unleashed by the decline of US and global imperialist capitalism.
There is no room for ambivalence or hesitation! We stand with Iran! The path to peace lies in the defeat of imperialism and Zionism!
The ‘Christian Rakovsky” International Socialist Center and the Redmed Web Network stand with Iran in its just war with this very awareness. Iran must emerge victorious from this war, the rogue state of Israel must be crushed, and the great power behind it, US imperialism, must be defeated along with Israel.
The expression of concerns about the nature of the regime in Iran, perfectly legitimate under other circumstances, must not be allowed to cast doubt on Iran’s rightful defence of its national independence as a country of the oppressed Global South against imperialist oppressors and their allies. A victory of the Zionist terrorist state and imperialism would be a disaster not only for the Iranian people and all peoples in the region but also of humanity accelerating the fall into the abyss of a world nuclear holocaust
There is no tangible basis for the imperialist and Zionist propaganda’s attempts to legitimise this barbaric declaration of war. Arguments about Iran’s uranium enrichment and its potential to acquire nuclear weapons are a mockery of the intelligence of the peoples of the planet. It is well known that Israel is the only state in West Asia and North Africa with a nuclear arsenal. Moreover, while Iran is a signatory to the international Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Israel has never been a party to it. Therefore, characterising Iran’s uranium enrichment as a threat and the Zionists’ hostility towards it as Israel’s concerns is merely repeating the lies of imperialism. Iran has demonstrated its willingness to keep its nuclear programme within peaceful limits through a series of agreements and by opening its doors to the International Atomic Energy Agency. Even if this were not the case, who could claim that only Israel has the right to possess nuclear weapons in the region? It is a legitimate right for Iran, which is under Israel’s nuclear threat, to possess nuclear capabilities to deter this threat.
The US and Western imperialism, which protect Zionist aggression, cannot be mediators
The attacks have clearly exposed the hypocrisy of imperialism. US President Donald Trump, who, before coming to power, marketed himself as a candidate for peace, is using Israel as an aggressive dog with a loose leash while continuing nuclear negotiations with Iran. French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who pose as democratic forces in contrast to Trump, did not hesitate to indicate that they would be willing to play a role in defending Israel in response to Iran’s countermeasures. They also halted a series of diplomatic initiatives aimed at recognising a Palestinian state. This move was initially aimed at curbing the massive anger that developed even among the peoples of imperialist countries against the Zionist genocide in Palestine, and mobilized, in hundreds of millions, people in demonstrations in London, Hague, Brussels, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Athens in defense of the people of Palestine and now of Iran itself. The massive mobilizations all over Europe against the pro-Zionist policies of their bourgeois governments and despite the repression by barbaric police brutality is a clear sign that imperialist war in the Middle East starts to escalate the rising social struggles in Europe into class war.
In Trump’s imperialist America in crisis, the popular rebellion in Los Angeles against the anti-immigrant war launched by the dictator in the White House mobilizing the National Guard and Marines as well as the 5 million-strong “No Kings” demonstrators, proves that the main enemy of the rulers and of their war is at home.
No salvation will come to the Middle East from the imperialists, whether American or European. The end of Zionist terrorism will not come through imperialist mediation, but through a relentless struggle against imperialism, Zionism and the capitalist system in an insoluble global crisis, the source of the imperialist war drive and barbarism. As a slogan by demonstrators in the Paris demonstration on June 14 said: if you want peace, prepare the revolution!
Open or covert collaboration with Zionism is a crime! The peoples are against, the rulers are servants!
This war has once again highlighted the striking hypocrisy of the imperialists and the collaborative nature of the regional powers. The collusive Arab regimes, which have issued statements condemning Israel out of fear of their peoples’ reactions, not only failed to provide any concrete support to Iran in its legitimate defence of its homeland, but also rushed to Israel’s defence. Iran’s missile and drone strikes against Israel are being countered first by Jordan’s air defence systems, as if they were the first line of defence. Saudi Arabia and Egypt are playing the same role against missiles fired at Israel from Yemen. These governments, which are shooting down these missiles against Zionist terrorism under the pretext of airspace security, reveal their true intentions by doing nothing against Israeli aircraft flying to Yemen and Iran. The US military bases in Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Kuwait are playing the role of a front line against Iran. Although these collaborators are among the greatest assets of the Zionists, the deepening of the war could trigger popular movements against the collaborating governments in countries with a significant Palestinian population, such as Jordan, or a Shiite majority, such as Bahrain. The rise of the masses in the Arab world to overthrow the collaborators of Zionism is the greatest hope for changing both the balance of power in the war and the regional balance in general.
The regimes in Greece and Turkey are serving imperialism and its war aims
The first night of the air bombing of Iran, the head of the Israeli General Staff thanked all those countries that helped the “successful operation of Israel”, and “particularly the Greek military”! The US military bases in Crete and all over Greece play always and particularly now a crucial role in the US-NATO-Israeli wars in the Middle East and Ukraine, with the full collaboration of the Greek governments and State. A military axis has been formed between Greece-Cyprus-Egypt and Israel. Its formation started already under the fake “left” Syriza government under Tsipras, and rapidly developed and strengthened under the right wing Mitsotakis governments. The Zionist State uses all the military and political facilities provided by the Greek State. Not accidentally, the “presidential airplane” of the criminal Netanyahu and his family found refuge and protection at the Athens airport few hours before the war aggression against Iran begun. The Greek ruling class and its governments claim that this axis with the genocidal Zionist regime “serves” as a “counter-weight” to threats coming from neighbor Turkey. In truth, this chauvinistic fraudulent argument serves only the imperialist war, covers up the astronomic military expenditures while the Greek people has suffered from a social disaster from 2010 on-wards, and, as a matter of fact, builds up the tensions between the two countries and the danger of a reactionary war catastrophic for both peoples and will benefit only the imperialist plans and interests. The break of the axis with the Zionist State and the al Sissi’s dictatorship in Egypt, as well as the ousting of NATO and all US bases from the country are the more elementary preconditions for peace in the Aegean and the Easter Mediterranean.
Turkey’s government provides verbal support to Iran while in practice it is supporting Israel
While the despotic regime in Turkey is content with empty statements, it refrains from taking any genuine steps to support the resistance against Zionism.
High-sounding statements against Israel are not followed by concrete steps such as military support for Iran or the Palestinian resistance, an embargo against Israel, or the closure of the Kürecik Base in Malatya, Turkey, which serves as the eyes and ears of the Zionists against missiles sent from Iran. This situation, which amounts to practical support for Zionism, must be brought to an end immediately. Practical military support for Zionist Israel’s attacks must be cut off, starting with the closure of the Kürecik and İncirlik bases, which stand as monuments to humiliation on Turkish territory. Concrete sanctions must be imposed on Israel, the Zionist embassy must be closed, a total embargo on Israel must be immediately implemented, in short those in power must put an end to this disgrace.

The Israel-Iran war has once again demonstrated that we are on the brink of a Third World War.
To say that the Third World War has already begun is sensationalist chatter. But the events that have unfolded over the past three years—from NATO unleashing Ukraine under Zelensky on Russia to Israel’s genocide in Gaza, and now the all-out attack on Iran—are even more deafening warnings than the developments that heralded the Second World War in the 1930s (Abyssinia, Spain, Munich, China, etc.).
Therefore, proletarian communists and socialists, all vanguard workers must certainly take seriously the slogans and demands regarding the individual wars taking place today, but they must not stop there. Humanity will soon face the task of preventing barbarism. The Gaza genocide is the first expression of this. Therefore, the task is to construct revolutionary workers’ parties in all countries and unite them in order to take steps towards the foundation of a world party, a revolutionary International, in order to defeat barbarism. It was the revolutions of the working class that put an end to the first two world wars. The third will be prevented by the working class, initially with its thunderous irruption in single countries towards taking power, ultimately through the victory of world socialist revolution.
